The central Laboratory of the Plant

The Plant Laboratory.

 The plant Laboratory provides analytical control coming into production and raw materials, production processes and finished products in order to determine the quality and compliance with regulatory requirements.

At the moment the plant laboratory has 2 sectors.

  • The spectral laboratory

  • The metallurgical testing laboratory

Our laboratories are fully equipped with high-tech devises:

  • The emission spectrometers ARL 3460 which analyze aluminum alloys, zinc, copper, lead and steel chemical composition

  • The inverted microscope Olympus GX-41 which allows to investigate the structure of samples, to determine the non-metallic inclusions, grain alloys.

  • The hydrogen analyzer for aluminum alloys AB-1.

  • Milling, turning and grinding machines needed for the preparation of samples for study

  • Gas tunnel furnace needed for metallurgical testing of raw materials and laboratory studies.

  • Air mail Sumetzberger provides fast delivery of samples from metal workshop to the laboratory.

One of the main types of work carried out in the laboratory is a spectral analysis of cast and wrought aluminum alloys for chemical composition. The analyzes results made by the optical-emission spectrometer ARL 3460 characterized as a high stability and reliability. The laboratory is operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year without interruption and stops. The exact of the analysis results verifying includes the internal control which is carried out regularly using standard samples, and external control, which is the reconciliation of the results of analyzes carried out by CPL and 'external' laboratory, and a careful study of mismatches.

 

Metallurgical testing laboratory is working to verify the castability of aluminum alloys.

Well equipped chemical laboratory allows analyzing substances and materials for which can only be used a classic method of "wet" chemistry.

Our professional staff of the laboratory mastered and applied the special method for determining the porosity of aluminum alloys.

In the soonest future we plan to organize  and develop  the mechanical characteristic testing of  finished products such as:

  • To implement automated methods for comprehensive study of the microstructure of aluminum alloys, the definition of the phases of concentration and non-metallic inclusions;

  • To work on new alloys creation jointly with the with metallurgical institutes of Russia.

  • To participate in the new ways development of alloys modifying, refining cast and wrought alloys;

  • To patent the new developments

  • To create the scientific publications and articles.
